Alumina Chrome Brick Description
Alumina chrome bricks’ main ingredients are corundum and chromic oxide, featured by low impurity content, stable high-temperature chemical property, high refractoriness, high strength, high hardness, and so on. When corundum content is higher than 92%, it is called corundum chrome brick.
Al2O3 and Cr2O3 can form high melting point compounds or high melting temperature eutectic with various kinds of oxide. For instance, Cr2O3 and Al2O3 can form alumina chrome sosoloid, chromic oxide and silica can form relatively low melting point eutectic, but melting temperature still as high as 1720℃. When slag corrodes alumina chrome bricks, Cr2O3 and Fe2O3 can form iron chrome spinel and iron alumina spinel eutectic, which is a good protection layer and can stop slag further corrosion. So chromic oxide added into alumina brick can improve slag resistance and avoid spall to some extent. Alumina chrome spinel bricks have higher corrosion resistance than fused magnesia chrome bricks and bonded magnesia chrome bricks.

Alumina Chrome Bricks Application
Alumina chrome bricks are widely used in carbon black, zinc oxide kiln, ceramic kiln, glass kiln, special chemistry, and metallurgy furnaces, etc. Alumina chrome bricks are mainly used in places that have a lower load, such as regenerative chamber upper part, nonferrous metal smelting furnace fire mouth arch, and so on. When alumina chrome bricks are used in copper smelting isa furnace, where slag corrosion is very severe, the permeated slag into alumina chrome bricks can form iron alumina spinel and iron chrome spinel protection layer and can stop slag corrosion.
