Semi Silica Bricks Description
Semi silica bricks contain 15%~30% of Al2O3, more than 65% of SiO2. Semi silica bricks are weak acidic refractory bricks. The raw materials to make semi silica bricks are high silica clay, agalmatolite or the mixture of silica and clay. The refractory property of semi silica bricks is between silica bricks and clay bricks. Semi siliceous bricks have better thermal shock resistance than silica bricks, have small volume change during application and even some volume expansion, which is good for the air tightness of the masonry. What’s more, semi silica bricks will produce 1~2mm thick enamel layer when contacted with molten slag under high temperature, the high viscous and high silica containing enamel layer, which is good for the acid slag corrosion resistance and molten metal liquid corrosion resistance ability, meanwhile, the rupture under load temperature is relatively high, so in some applications, the service life of semi silica bricks is as long as clay bricks.

Semi Silica Bricks Applications
Semi silica bricks have good acidic slag corrosion resistance, have relatively high structural strength under high temperature and good volume stability.
