Magnesia Alumina Bricks Description
Magnesia alumina bricks are made from grinded fine powder of magnesia sand and alumina, molded by high pressure press machine and sintered in high temperature kiln. The magnesia sand used for producing magnesia alumina bricks contains about 90% of MgO. CaO content in magnesia sand should be strictly controlled, because CaO can form Calcia magnesia forsterite, which will appear liquid phase in high temperature and will decrease rupture under load temperature. Alumina used for making magnesia alumina bricks are made from high alumina bauxite which contains more than 85% of Al2O3, less than 5% of SiO2, and less than 0.5% of basic metal oxide R2O. Al2O3 content in MgO-Al2O3 bricks is between 5% and 10%. Magnesia alumina bricks belong to basic fire bricks and have good basic slag corrosion resistance.

Magnesia alumina bricks is one of the most competitive products to replace magnesia chrome refractory bricks. Because chrome containing fire bricks will generate Cr6+ , cause severe environmental pollution. Magnesia alumina bricks have better cost performance than magnesia spinel bricks, and are widely used in steel ladle, permanent lining of steel making furnace, regenerative chamber of glass kiln, iron mixing furnace, copper smelting reflector kiln top and high temperature industrial furnaces and kilns of refractory industry.
