Five Properties of High Alumina Refractory Bricks
Compared to fireclay brick, high alumina bricks have the advantages of high refractoriness, high refractoriness under load, the slag resistance will be improved with the increase of Al203 content. Specifically, high alumina bricks have the following characteristics.
- Refractoriness
The refractoriness of high alumina brick is higher than the refractoriness of clay brick and semi-silica brick, which can reach to 1750~1790℃, belongs to high grade refractory. The refractoriness mainly influenced by the Al2O3 content and quantity, the refractory is improved with the Al2O3 content.
- High Refractoriness Under Load
Owing to high Al2O3 content in high alumina brick and with less impurities, and form less fusible glass body, so the refractoriness under load temperature is lower than the silica brick.
- Thermal Conductivity
High alumina bricks have better thermal conductivity than clay brick. The reason is that the glass phase with low thermal conductivity capacity is less in high alumina products, while the quantity of mullite brick and corundum crystal with good thermal conductivity is increased, and improve the thermal conductivity of the products.
- Anti-thermal stability
The anti-thermal stability of high alumina brick is between the clay products and silica bricks. 850% recirculation and circulation is just 3~5 times. This is mainly owing to the heat expansion of corundum is higher than the mullite, and without crystal type transform.
- Slag Resistance performance
There are much Al2O3 content in high alumina brick, close to the neutral refractory, can resist to acid slag and alkali slag, owing to have the content of Si02E, so the ability of alkali brick is poor than the acid slag. In addition, the slag resistance of the high alumina brick is refers to stability in slag. Generally speaking, through high pressure forming and high temperature burnt, the products with low porosity have the characteristics of high slag resistance.
