Different  types and specifications of cement rotary kilns  and different  process crafts have different demands on refractory materials. So choosing the suitable refractory products can realize the long service life and low heat radiation of  the whole kilns or different parts of liners and get good economic benefits.

Currently, according to relevant researches, manufacturing processes and practical operation experiences, refractory materials for differernt parts of rotary cement kiln are suggested.

(1). The sintering zone and bilateral transition zone with stable coating should adopt magnesia bricks, which include magnesia chrome brick, low chromium and chrome-free brick, various magnesia bricks with or without zirconium  and dolomite brick. The high alumina brick, especially phosphate bonded high alumina brick  can be adopted when the kiln with small production capacity and low temperature and high frequency to open and stop.

(2). The spinel brick should be adopted when the kiln with unstable coating, even has the phenomenon of brick exposure , high alumina brick can be adopted when kiln with small production capacity and low temperature, especially the phosphate high alumina brick.

(3) In the kiln material preheating part, including the tailor after calcining zone in kiln, preheater and decomposing furnace system, in the middle temperature zone of the tertiary air piping and the cooling machine, all the lining surface temperature not above 1200℃ should adopt clay refractory material, including alkali resistance brick, alkali resistance castables and  clay brick. The above parts in the new dry kiln and Lepol kiln is the most suitable by series of alkali resistance brick, including the ordinary alkali brick used in preheater body and cone parts and cooling machine, high strength alkali brick used in tertiary pipe, alkali resistance insulating brick used in kiln tail.

(4). The preheating decomposition part of the long kiln can be made of a clay brick working layer and a composite lining consisting of a high strength (not less than 9Mpa) insulating brick.

(5). At the kiln outlet, refractory bricks and refractory castables with good wear-resistance property can be adopted, such as silicon carbide composite bricks, high quality phosphate bonded high alumina wear-resistant bricks and no steel fiber reinforced refractory castables.

(6).The burner outer protective lining generally use low cement corundum castable refractory, high alumina castable and steel fiber reinforced castable etc..
