Cordierite Brick Description
Cordierite bricks are high alumina content refractory bricks which are made from high alumina raw material, synthesized cordierite and bonder. Cordierite bricks can be divided into high alumina cordierite brick and mullite cordierite bricks, based on the main composition content. Cordierite has excellent refractoriness, thermal shock resistance and small linear changer, so cordierite bricks made from cordierite and high alumina material or mullite material have excellent high temperature performance, such as high compression strength, excellent thermal shock resistance, low permanent liner change and thermal expansion. Mullite cordierite bricks have better RUL, cold compression strength and thermal shock resistance compared with high alumina cordierite bricks.

Cordierite Bricks Applications
In the light of cordierite brick’s excellent thermal shock resistance, high compression strength and long service life, it is a good replacement of clay fire brick and high alumina brick. Cordierite bricks are widely used in hot blast furnace ceramic combustor and ceramic industry, such as tunnel kiln car brick, rollaway kiln, pusher kiln and pusher kiln furniture, etc. Cordierite bricks can also be used in heat exchanger catalyst carrier for exhaust purification equipment.
